Our History
Kleinpeter Photography began in 1973 while Greg Kleinpeter worked as a photographer for The Catholic Commentator newspaper here in Baton Rouge. As Greg found himself being asked by friends and family to photograph their weddings more and more, he realized that wedding photography might be his calling.
Greg's younger brother, Troy, began assisting him in 1983 after graduating from high school. Kelly Kleinpeter remembers helping Greg & Troy ‘open up shop’ in their first studio on Foster once she and Troy began dating. Business then expanded to portraits for families, children, dance schools, and day cares, to name a few. Kleinpeter Photography became known for its lush, green outdoor studio and its personable yet professional service.
As demand for the studio’s services grew, Taft Kleinpeter, Greg & Troy’s nephew, began assisting the brothers as well in 1985. Kelly took over as Office Manager after her wedding to Troy in 1986. Moving to the current location in 1995, Kleinpeter Photography services all areas of photography including weddings, portraits, seniors, dance schools, preschools, special events, and commercial and executive photography. In business now for over 45 years, our photographers are well versed in every area of photography and are able to meet your needs.
